We are a Seventh-day Adventist school located in Wilson, MI. Back to School List
Philosophy: “The goal of education is to restore in men and women the image of their Maker and prepare them for this life and the life hereafter.” Education, pp. 15-16 Because it is our desire at Wilson SDA Jr. Academy to help students grow to be more like Christ, all items brought to school should reflect Christian values by being simple and avoiding worldly themes, such as cartoon figures, etc. This principle should also govern your choice of school clothing.
The list below applies to students in grades 1-4. Each student in grades 1-4 should have at least one of the following items.
1. Backpack
2. Lunch box
3. Toothbrush
4. Toothpaste
5. Water bottle
6. Box of Kleenex to share with the class. (The teacher will store the boxes and open as necessary.)
7. Liquid hand soap (This is for the sink in the classroom. Bottles of soap will be shared, stored and used as needed.)
8. Headphones for use at the computer and listening center
9. Optional: One mechanical pencil. (Must have 0.7 lead. Please have only one pencil at school at a time. A student with one pencil knows where it is. A student with many pencils is never quite sure where their pencil is or whether or not it has lead or an eraser.)
10.Optional: One eraser.
11.Large size empty cereal box.
12.$22.00 for other supplies. These supplies include: Journal, markers, colored pencils, desk tray or pencil box, glue, glue sticks, eraser, pencil, 0.7 lead, paper (including special paper for writing in the primary grades, dry erase markers, crayons, water color paints and paint brushes, post-it notes for reader’s workshop, scissors, and various folders.
